Full Story

Multiple on-chain data trackers confirm that Bitcoin, the largest and most popular decentralized payment network; has achieved a significant milestone of processing one Billion Transactions since the time of its inception with an average of 1,79,000 Transactions per day since it mined its first genesis block.

This milestone underlines the consistent growth and adoption of the Bitcoin network amid the various uncertain market conditions. The rapid growth in Bitcoin Transactions is attributed to significant technical advancements like Bitcoin Ordinals and Runes, which have fueled activity on the Bitcoin network. Additionally, the approval of the Bitcoin ETF this year has also contributed to this rapid surge. If you look at the above snapshot, interestingly, it took only 4 years for Bitcoin to achieve more than half a billion transactions.

While Ethereum has already completed 2.4 billion transactions, Bitcoin's remarkable record of 1 billion transactions and its next voyage to 2 billion transactions is testament to the enduring trust users place in the Bitcoin Network, despite its slower transaction approval rate compared to Ethereum.
