What is Ellipsis (EPX)?
EPX is the native token of a decentralized exchange, Ellipsis Finance, an authorized fork of Curve Finance. Ellipsis Finance claims to be the most flexible and capital-efficient DEX operating on the BNB chain. It offers price efficient token swap facility, Liquidity generation for protocol tokens, and yield-earning practices to various token holders through its robust automated market maker (AMM) architecture.
Ellipsis AMM maintains liquidity pools and rewards Liquidity providers through its EPX tokens. In return, users who deposit their tokens in the Ellipsis liquidity pools get LP tokens. Further, when they stake these LP tokens, they get EPX tokens as their reward.
EPX token has three purposes in the Ellipsis infrastructure - Voting, Boosting, and Locking. The holders of EPX tokens can lock their EPX tokens for a period to receive vlEPX (vote-locked EPX). Through these vlEPX tokens, users can earn trading fees and vote in some limited governance decisions of Ellipsis. They can also boost their Liquidity pool reward to up to 2.5X. The total supply of EPX tokens is 132 billion.
